In the summer, there was surfing with a skyline view, then there was skyline camping. Center Manager Olaf M. Kindt thought that there must be a great winter event for the Skyline Plaza roof garden. And then everything happened very quickly: at the beginning of October, initial talks were held with Jürgen and Philipp Klein, who not only wanted to set up what is probably Germany's highest ice rink on the roof of the shopping center, but also Frankfurt's first climate-neutral ice rink. No sooner said than done: on today's Monday, 28 November, the winter magic "Rauf aufs Eis" (Up on the ice) was opened, which is to lure young and old to the approx. 200 m² eco-artificial ice rink until 08 January.

The view of the skyline is just as magnificent as the fact that the rink does not involve any power consumption or CO2 emissions. Up to 50 people can do their laps at the same time and enjoy a spectacular view of the skyline with the two new additions, the TOWER ONE and the Grand Tower. The ride feeling on the plastic plates is a little different than on real ice. But you quickly get used to it. The fun factor has to suffer from it in no way.

The ice rink was opened by Center Manager Kindt, who had gotten the former GNTM contestant Natascha Jasmin Beil to the side for the first rounds. In keeping with the ice theme, ice queen Elsa, her sister Anna and the world's most popular snowman, Olaf, were also guests on the Skyline Plaza rooftop garden and provided plenty of shining children's eyes. For a first endurance test of the ice rink provided the junior Lions Frankfurt, who put the "ice" in a small show interlude to the acid test.

In addition to the ice rink, two lanes are also available for curling. There 10 people can compete for the best throws. In addition to these sporting activities, the fun of dancing should not be neglected: Every Thursday there is an after work ice disco from 18:00 -20:00. And if you don't want to go on the rink yourself, you can make yourself comfortable in the winter beer garden. At the rustic gastro hut you can get mulled wine, apple mulled wine or Lumumba as well as various beers, wines or non-alcoholic drinks. And hunger can be satisfied here with currywurst, chips, Schupfnudeln or tarte flambée.

Center Manager Olaf M. Kindt is pleased: "Ice skating with a great skyline view and under twinkling lights is a nice complementary program after shopping. Our nearly 10,000-square-foot rooftop terrace offers ideal conditions and plenty of space - both for the active and for cabin visitors."

Organizers Jürgen and Philipp Klein are particularly pleased that their new climate-neutral ice rink has found such an urban spot on the roof terrace: "With the SKYLINE Winterzauber, we don't just want to reach people from the surrounding Europaviertel. The event offers a really nice happening for the whole family from near and far."
