World's leading trade fair Cider World also 2023 again in Frankfurt

With about 100 exhibitors from more than 15 countries, the Cider World, which takes place this year for the 15th time, makes the Main metropolis for two days at the end of April the navel of the cider, cider and Sidra world.

On April 28, outstanding producers will be honored as part of the Cider World Awards, and on April 29, the Gesellschaftshaus in Frankfurt's Palmengarten will be transformed into a Mecca for all those interested in cider, from trade visitors to end consumers, with the Cider World Expo. New this year: not a country or a region is the guest of honor at the fair, but the focus is on the meadow orchard as a sustainable cultural landscape. Frankfurt, February 2023. Over the past 15 years, Cider World has become the most important international industry gathering for the presentation, tasting and sale of cider, cider and co. and regularly attracts producers from the world's best press houses to the Main. "We are pleased that this year exhibitors from completely new destinations will be arriving, for example from Belgium and Valais. There is even a wine press from Quebec, Canada," explains Michael Stöckl, Managing Director of Cider World. "The fact that producers come from more than 15 countries shows us what international significance Cider World now has." For the preservation of the meadow orchard Whereas up to now a country or region has always been the guest of honor at the world's leading trade fair, in 2023 it will be the meadow orchard. "With this focus, we are setting an example to contribute to the preservation of these cultural landscapes worthy of protection," says Christine Isensee-Kiesau, co-organizer of Cider World. "As closed ecosystems, they are home to many animal and plant species. Their survival can only be guaranteed by demand from the fruits that grow there, which is why ciders, ciders or ciders made from scattered fruit are so valuable to us." Simultaneously with the Cider World the European-wide day of the Streuobstwiese takes place, which is thematized also in the context of the Frankfurt fair. For example, professional associations from Germany and other European countries, including Regionalverband Frankfurt Rhein Main, Hochstamm Deutschland e.V. and Arge Streuobst from Austria, will present their programs for the preservation of meadows, biodiversity and species protection. Awards in six categories The Cider World Award will be presented at 12 p.m. on April 28 at the Astor Film Lounge MyZeil, with Frankfurt City Councilor Stephanie Wüst as patron. As a science-based award for cider, it is presented in cooperation with Geisenheim University. The renowned teaching and research institution subjects each of the up to 180 products submitted to an extensive analysis before an international jury of experts tastes and evaluates them. The coveted award is presented in six categories: Cider Still and Sparkling, Cider Flavoured & Mixed, Ice Cider, Non-alcoholic Cider and Brandy, i.e. brandies made from apple, pear or quince wine. In addition, after the premiere in 2022, the special award "Cider Star of the Year" goes again this year to a person who has made a special contribution to the cultural asset cider. The award ceremony will be hosted by Gabe "The Ciderologist" Cook from England. "We are very proud that we could win Gabe for our event", says Michael Stöckl. "He is an absolute specialist, one of the most internationally recognized experts when it comes to cider."
