A trip to the water park - start of the season for the water trail

Clearing your head from all the negative headlines that hit us every day is a must. At the moment, nice walks are particularly suitable for this, as most leisure activities are still closed or closed again. But Frankfurt's parks and green spaces invite you to take a relaxed stroll. Today we would like to recommend one park in particular: The water park on Friedberger Landstraße. Why the water park of all places? There are two reasons: Firstly, this old people's park is simply beautiful and is also suitable for longer walks, as a visit to the nearby Günthersburgpark can be connected at the same time. On the other hand, there is a beautiful water nature trail at the back of the park, which has now been reopened.

This excursion destination, which is particularly popular with families and kindergartens, retraces the path of drinking water - from the source to treatment and transport to use. Thanks to Mainova's commitment, children, young people and adults can find out all about the number one foodstuff. The water-bearing exhibits invite visitors to try them out and linger a while. They are connected by a wooden footbridge around 200 metres long and three metres wide, which is modelled on a natural watercourse. The nature trail has a total of nine stations. Explanatory panels provide further information. The public drinking fountain on site also donates water again.

By the way, in addition to the water nature trail, the two public Mainova water parks will also be returning in time for World Water Day on Monday, March 22. March, the two public Mainova drinking fountains in the city centre will also return from their winter break. Then passers-by will once again be able to quench their thirst free of charge and refresh themselves on the go. At the push of a button, half a litre of fresh drinking water of impeccable quality and from regional sources will bubble out of the water dispensers. The two-metre-high stainless steel pillars in Grosse Bockenheimer Strasse and in Liebfrauenstrasse at the corner of the Zeil are a popular focal point in Frankfurt's city centre. Passers-by used the drinking fountains, which are marked with hygiene notices, around 400 times a day last year. Due to the special situation, all users are still asked to observe the usual hygiene rules when using them. This includes the request not to operate the push button with bare hands.
