For a good 19 months it stood in the depot, was not allowed to take people through Frankfurt. But now the time has finally come: from Saturday, 06.11.2021, the Ebbelwei-Express is driving through the city again. Due to the current coronavirus protection ordinance of the state of Hesse, the 2G access model provides a way to run scheduled trips of the Ebbelwei Express on weekends and holidays despite rising infection rates.

For the first time since March 14, 2020, the Ebbelwei Express, which is popular not only with tourists but also with numerous Frankfurt residents, will depart from the "Zoo" stop at 1:30 pm on Saturday. From then on, guests must of course observe the usual Corona safety rules on site. The trips will take place according to the 2G rule, which means:

All vaccinated and/or recovered persons (also applies to children over 12 years of age)

may ride along.

The staff on board the Ebbelwei-Expreß are also vaccinated and/or recovered

No mask requirement

No distance regulations

Before the start of the journey, the convalescent or vaccination proofs are to be presented to the train by presenting appropriate certificates including an official proof of identity (e.g. identity card). For children under 12 years of age, a negative proof is sufficient. There is no access restriction for children under 6.
