Frankfurt campaign 'Kleider machen Leute' once again honors Corona everyday heroes

There are many people who cannot work in their home offices during this difficult time, but have to perform their tasks among other people. This puts them at risk of infection on a daily basis that could be avoided. One of these people - Uwe Scholz, (56) guard police officer for the state of Hesse and on duty for the Frankfurt Police Headquarters, Airport Directorate - is convinced of this: "I THINK if all citizens adhere to the government's measures, then we have a real chance of having the pandemic behind us soon."

The father of two children (24 and 12J) has been in the field since 2002. He and his colleagues*innen must always master new situations and react quickly to prevent crimes, avert dangers and maintain public safety and order. The tasks of the guard police include the security of objects, the implementation of identification measures, crime scene work, support during deportations and demonstrations (implementation of transports), traffic monitoring, services at major events or foot patrols.

Scholz has during his previous professional use as a paramedic at the German Red Cross in Hofheim am Taunus, completed a four-week training as a state-certified disinfector. During the first "Corona wave" he was temporarily assigned to the responsible office for occupational health and safety at the police headquarters in Frankfurt am Main. Here he was responsible for a quick concept development, as well as the appropriate instruction of the colleagues for necessary disinfection measures at the so-called "command and deployment means" of the police. These include, in addition to the equipment of the law enforcement officers, such as belt, vest, service weapons and helmets, also the emergency vehicles.

Distance, hygiene, everyday masks. This formula can help contain the virus. Not all citizens* see it that way: Therefore, there are also now and then during controls people who do not keep a distance, do not wear protective masks and resist the authorities. Just in Frankfurt it came in the past to demonstrations and riots.

Sufferers are often the women and men in uniform who are committed to ensuring that the city remains clean and safe. It doesn't matter if they are firefighters, police officers or EMTs. They are insulted, spat at or insulted. Less and less recognition, respect and appreciation remains for them.

That's why tailor Stephan Görner and PR and event professional Sven Müller have set an example and, representing the many uniform wearers*, have awarded the guard police officer Uwe Scholz as a Corona hero of everyday life for the campaign "Clothes make the man".

Daniel Baldus photographed him first in uniform on duty at controls at the Alte Oper Frankfurt and then on the ICH monument at the Gerbermühle. Wearing a smart custom-made suit by menswear designer Stephan Görner, Scholz was visibly comfortable and had a lot of fun as a photo model.

Scholz only has occasional experience with suits when performing with his "classic rock <x>ampersand</x> pop cover band," The BUBBLES. As the group's drummer and second voice, he wears extroverted jackets or slacks when doing so.

The campaign's lighthouse project is the "Kleider machen Leute" charity event. This was originally scheduled to take place on November 14, 2020. The initiators have moved it to January 23, 2021 due to the pandemic. However, this event date is not yet certain. Only if the daily new infections decrease do we have a small chance of holding the event, says Sven Müller, who has prepared for all eventualities. Watch policeman Uwe Scholz is then in any case with the party. Because the Corona heroes of everyday life are the focus of the event and will be honored accordingly.
