Enjoying with all senses: Le petit RESTAURANT FESTIVAL FRANKFURT 2022

This will be a treat for everyone who likes to discover new culinary delights and experience hospitality: At the end of October, the Restaurant Festival Frankfurt celebrates the desire for pleasure on 8 evenings in 8 locations with 8 menus of the extra class. Previous editions of the Restaurant Festival had already enjoyed great popularity in 2016 - 2019. Almost all evenings were sold out. Many gourmets attended several evenings at once. For the restaurants a welcome change and enrichment - over 80% of the festival guests visited the respective restaurant for the first time. The sixth edition of the festival aims to build on this success.

"The pandemic has changed many things, but not people's longing and desire to enjoy and celebrate and exchange ideas with each other. That's why I'm personally looking forward to meeting old and new faces at the Restaurant Festival. Both among the guests and among the restaurateurs. For this year, we have succeeded in a very turbulent program, where from the vegan 12-course sharing menu to the game evening very many different concepts are there, even the visit of Fäviken's pupil David Heimer," says Daniel Tobias Etzel, initiator and managing director (WAOH GmbH)

It is a special culinary journey of discovery through Frankfurt and the region, to which the initiators of the restaurant festival invite. Who wants to be there, should hurry, because some dates are already sold out:

INFO ON DATES

21. October - HALF SO WILD / Bornheimer Ratskeller

Over the Bornheimer slope Mario Furlanello and his team succeeded in reviving a traditional place with fresh wind and new ideas in such a way that both Foodies and long-standing loyal guests come fully at their expense. For the start of the restaurant festival, they create a tribute to golden leafy forests, where hunting game from Hesse (such as wild boar, fallow deer, red deer and hare) meet autumn vegetables of all colors and shapes as part of a balanced menu.

89 euros, 6 courses including. Aperitif

22. October - CHEFS TABLE BEI NILS HENKEL / Bootshaus Bingen

A long table becomes a Chef's Table, where Nils Henkel will give a little insight into the ideas and stories of his compositions. At the Bootshaus Bingen, the star chef (formerly of Burg Schwarzenstein, two stars) will welcome us with a 5-course signature menu created especially for the Restaurant Festival. We expect an unforgettable timeout from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, picturesque plates and exciting wines and foresight on the Rhine at the foot of the vineyards.

155 euros, 5 courses incl. Beverage accompaniment

23. October - FISH FROM FRIENDS / Margarete

Regional fish farming is making a furious comeback. Away from empty seas, microplastics and absurd transport routes that spoil our appetite. Towards local fish specialties from neighboring friends! Extremely fresh shrimp, sushi-grade baramundi and crisp trout - all from the local area. Simon Horn and Samuel Urbansky bring their latest discoveries to the plate and are excited to share this new way of enjoying fish with us!

125 euros, 4 courses incl. beverage accompaniment

25. October - NORTH SWEDEN'S FORESTS AND LAKES / David Heimer in the vineyard

Even though the Fäviken no longer exists, the descendants of the legendary star restaurant and the sweet memories of the Chef's Table episode do. David Heimer, Head Chef and co-owner of "Josef" in Zurich, got to experience two formative years alongside Magnus Nilsson. There, the former "wunderkind at the stove" developed into a brilliant master of his craft. Davids

cuisine is light and profound at the same time. His dishes are multi-layered like great literature and it resonates something magical, which he himself probably could neither explain, nor would confirm.

149 euros, 6 courses including. Drinks accompaniment

26. October - SUPERNATURAL / Leuchtendroter

Leaves for a night with loud bang the good manners! Who was there in 2019 in the Leuchtendroter knows that the team around the hosts Lukas and Niclas celebrates food and drink in a very unique way. This year, and this is new Restaurant Festival record, under the motto "Supernatural" 12 courses will be served as a sharing menu, accompanied by the best natural wines and of course liquor on the tables. If you're looking for a place for a quiet date night, you're in the wrong place that night. There are group tables only and the speakers are turned up to the max. A liberation from the corset of the Schickeriaküche.

149 euros, 12 course sharing menu incl. all drinks

27. October - HERBSTEXPLOSION / Yaldy

In the middle of Frankfurt's station district, a small oasis of foodie happiness has made a name for itself. With plates that are delicious as hell and beautiful as hell, accompanied by drinks mixed to perfection and carefully selected wines. For their Restaurant Festival premiere, Michele Heinrich (Ex Kinley Bar), his partner Andrei Lipan, and chef Oliver Selzer of leaf to root are making fall explode. Full of vegetarian, full of variety, full of flavor.

66 euros, 5 course sharing menu, optional drink accompaniment (55 euros)

28. October - WHAT TONY MIGHT HAVE LOVED NO.3 / Flowers (Sold Out)

Drinks & Mess. Family Style. Greasy. Spritzy. Heavenly. Host Micha Mayer invites you to the third edition of his homage to Anthony Bourdain as part of the Restaurant Festival 2022 and promises pure culinary rock'n'roll, high pleasure without stiff etiquette, wholehearted hospitality. Completely in the spirit of a still highly inspiring personality and more than ever the epitome of sexy gastronomy. Because as Micha rightly says, can do us all "a little more Tony" only good.

154 euros, 5-course menu including. Beverage accompaniment

29. October - ESCOFFIERS FEUCHTE TRÄUME / Funky Mr. Salvador

A swan song to the Nouvelle Cuisine in 10 acts: When Auguste Escoffier created the first-class menu for the maiden voyage of the Titanic in April 1912, he drew from the full, unaware that doom was approaching. The team of Funky Mr. Salvador will revive the dazzling splendor of times long past for a few moments and make us forget all questions and worries for an evening. With a contemporary interpretation of the original Titanic menu that has been handed down. This culinary dive will be accompanied by classic drinks as well as selected wines from wine merchant Nicolas Buchberger of "Copains du Vin", who will personally accompany the menu. We look forward to a latently grotesque and sprawling revue. Or to say it with the words of Falco: "The Titanic sinks in panic, allanig. but good. Because who saves himself, has to the sinking kan courage."

198 euros, 10-course menu including. Drinks accompaniment
